HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE

On Wednesday September 3rd., Dutcham´s HR committee gathered at the premises of RABOBANK and received special guests: Mr. Peter Gortzak, Vice-President of the Netherlands Trade Union Federation FNV and his advisor for Latin America Mr. Tjalling Postma, accompanied by leading executives from the Brazilian Labor Union Centre CUT. In an informal way, ideas where discussed about Corporate Social Responsibility, especially with regard to labor issues. Dutcham´s Vice-President Mr. Jan Wiegerink, founding member of the GELRE group of companies, pioneer and specialist on the issue and being President of an important Employers Union himself, skillfully coordinated the discussion. It was interesting to see that employees and employers in Brazil have more interests in common than most people believe; the ratification of the rules for outsourcing as suggested by the International Labor Organization ILO, being an example. The link between CUT – FNV and Dutcham, may, in this sense, well develop as yet another channel whereby the interests of member companies and others may be catered for.
