Dutch companies in Brazil are often at the forefront of promoting responsible business practices. With a strong commitment to sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and social responsibility, these organizations are setting the standard for ethical business conduct and inspiring other oranizations to  develop similar actions.  Meet the projects that were selected as nominees and winners of the 2025 INSPIRE AWARDS, an initiative created and promoted by Dutcham. Winners were announced and recognized at the GALA DINNER.

SUSTAINABILITY

Rabobank partnering with Terra Viva started implementing 1,000 hectares of orange groves using regenerative agriculture practices. It is converting 700 hectares of degraded pastureland into productive areas and protecting 1,582 hectares of forests. 

INSPIRATION IN A NUTSHELL: Sustainability has to make business sense.  Once it is implemented sucessfuly, productively and profitably in one farm, it becomes an example for others to follow.

The project seeks to strengthen local governance and enhance collaboration among sustainable Cacau growers in the states of Bahia and Pará (Brazil), using a Stakeholder Engagement Plan developed by Arcadis.

The Circular Economy Project focuses on minimizing waste generation and landfill disposal by identifying gaps in waste generation processes and implementing circular approaches in SBM Offshore's opeartions in Brazil.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

The ‘Touching Colors’ project by AkzoNobel's Tintas Coral aims to make colours accessible to over 6 million people with visual impairments in Brazil.​ ​ In partnership with the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind, Coralhas developed a solution that allows blind individuals to also connect with colours.

Brunel developed an affirmative apprenticeship program exclusively for Black women combining technical training, formal education and English development. The program provides hands-on experience, structured mentoring and a clear pathway to long-term career progression.

Black Talents is a strategic Supergasbras program designed to develop and accelerate the careers of Black professionals by connecting culture, identity, and professional growth.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Desafio Faz Game was sponsored by SBM Offshore and held in 52 public schools from Rio de Janeiro with 130 teachers and 1992 students. Teachers learned new pedagogical methods; students created games, developed creativity, reading and writing skills, digital abilities and logical thinking.

INSPIRATION IN A NUTSHELL: Providing teachers and students of public schools with digital tools for improving perfomance and reducing school drop-out.

The AACB Educational Program is a social responsibility initiative developed by Banco ABN AMRO Clearing Brasil in partnership with ESPRO and Instituto Muretinhas. It aims to reduce social inequality by preparing vulnerable youth for the job market through professional training, mentoring, and social support. 

INSPIRATION IN A NUTSHELL: Providing professional education and soft skills to underprivileged youth.

Arcadis promoted access to drinking water through the installation of 28 cisterns, combined with education on hygiene and maintenance. Approximately 140 people are directly benefited. The action reduces diseases related to contaminated water, such as diarrhea and hepatitis A.
