End of 2019 was the start of our first Dutcham D&I Committee – a special delegation of senior level managers from our Dutch companies – in the first place with the purpose of working together on “Female Empowerment“. Learn about the creation of the committee here.

The Committee has now grown into a solid network where experiences and challenges are shared in the overall field of Diversity & Inclusion. In addition to gender equality, the Committee also focuses on equal opportunities regardless of origin, orientation or belief.

Inspiring, internal projects are exchanged between our companies in order to learn and grow together. New learnings are developed with the support of external experts and specialists via regular roundtables. Concrete projects are set up together with independent organizations such as UN Women.

Commited to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace

Today 18 important Dutch companies based in Brazil actively participate in this bimonthly working group, under the supervision of our “Committee Ambassador”, Mrs. Patricia Frossard (Country Manager at Philips Brazil). The committee is chaired by Mrs. Inara Sanchez (HR Manager LATAM at FrieslandCampina).

In March of 2021, Dutcham proudly signed the Women Empowerment Principles (WEPs), a set of principles, established by the UN Women, offering guidance to businesses on how to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community. We are delighted that not only Dutcham has made this important commitment, but a number of companies, such as AkzoNobel, Deloitte, DSM, KPMG, Makro, Philips and Shell, have been engaging recently. Hopefully we will be able encourage more companies, Dutch and Brazilian, to follow this initiative and sign up for the WEP’s.
